- Reduce helium carrier gas consumption while operating with a SSL injector
H2 Sensor
Roger Simon is happy to answer your questions.
Safety
Hydrogen costs about 75% less than helium of comparable quality. The only drawback is the danger of explosion in case of a leak in the column oven. The H2-Sensor will continuously monitor the atmosphere in the GC-oven.
Get all the benefits of hydrogen as carrier gas … take no risk.
Modularity
- Modular design
- installed in 3 minutes
- Quick connect
Active system
- Continuous monitoring even if the oven fan is off
- The H2-Sensor will continuously monitor the atmosphere in the GC-oven. If the present threshold level is exceeded, an audible alarm is alerted and the alarm starts blinking. The oven is immediately shut off and the cooling flap opens. In addition, the system can switch to nitrogen if a gas switching valve is provided.
Fully integrated in TRACE1600/1610 GC
The Thermo Scientific TRACE 1600/1610 Series GC firmware includes the H2 Sensor.

How it works
GC-O exhibits powerful capabilities that can be applied to flavors and perfumes, as well as to any odoriferous products (e.g. pollutants).
By installing at the end of a chromatographic column a split, the sample is splitted between the FID Detector and the nose. The peak/odor impression correlation will then be performed by specialized fragrance chemists.
The mechanical interface is manufactured from a single piece of stainless steel tubing heated by direct current. The tube is profiled to give a uniform temperature profile. The chemical compound are transported to the nose using a deactivated fused silica. Humid air is added around the transfer fused silica to add comfort to the panelist and prevent nasal dryness.

LC-GC: The best of both worlds
Both GC and LC are widely used in today’s analytical lab. Each technique has its advantages. The coupling of LC to GC offers various advantages.
- Simple sample preparation
- Sample enrichment
- High resolution of compounds
- High sensitivity
Mosh Moah
The analysis of mineral oil in food and packaging is one of the main applications for LC-GC. The extracted sample is injected onto the LC, which separates the saturated and aromatic hydrocarbon from the matrix. Each fraction is injected onto the GC column. The dual channel technology allows for the analysis of BOTH fractions in a single run.
Automation at your fingertip
The dedicated software makes the LC-GC 9000 a routine instrument. Once the method is setup, a sequence of sample can be programmed.
The software controls all the instruments (Phoenix pump, Trace GC, PAL Autosampler and Exachrom acquisition system).
For complex matrices
LC-GC coupling has been successfully used in the following fields:
- Food samples
- Flavor & Fragrance samples
- Petrochemical and industrial samples
- Environmental samples
- Pharmaceutical samples
- Biological samples.
