HPLC and SFC Systems

The LC-4000 Series is the next generation of integrated HPLC and SFC systems, with a stackable modules for versatile system building for simple analytical complex method development and preparative scale separations.

 

The LC-4000 Series is made up of several distinct platforms, 50 MPa for routine and preparative HPLC, 70 MPa for Rapid separations with smaller particle sizes and solid core particle columns and 130 MPa for separations with sub 2um particle sizes. The   SFC-4000 supercritical fluid systems also offer different platforms for routine analytical with rapid method-development  and preparative scale for library purification and bulk purification and for a variety of SFE extraction system.

 

Both the LC and SFC systems benefit from the widest selection of optical detectors and LC-MS & SFC-MS with single-quadrupole mass spectrometer with ESI and APCI.

 

All systems include ChromNAV, an easy to use chromatography data system that includes many features to make your life easier for applications from routine separation and quantitation to method development, column screening, automated prep and GPC.

HPLC and RHPLC Analytical Systems up to 70 MPa

The LC-4000 Series 70 MPa system has been designed to future-proof your HPLC requirements. The LC-4000         70 MPa system can be used with conventional 3 and 5 μm particle size analytical columns at typical lower pressures around 10 to 20 MPa and can also be used with smaller particles such as shorter length UHPLC columns and superficially porous (SPP) or Coreshell that require slightly higher pressure solvent delivery to provide optimum linear velocity through the column.

For over two decades  JASCO analytical HPLC pumps have employed an asymmetric twin-piston solvent delivery system SSQD (Slow Suction, Quick Delivery) which provides significantly better flow and pressure profiles than the commonly used conventional twin-piston reciprocating design. In the LC-4000 series, SSQD has been re-developed, with a completely new solvent delivery mechanism offering the highest stability in solvent delivery across the entire analytical flow rate range.

UHPLC Analytical Systems

For  over  two  decades  JASCO  analytical  HPLC  pumps have employed an asymmetric twin-piston solvent delivery system SSQD (Slow Suction, Quick Delivery) which provides significantly better flow and pressure profiles than the commonly used conventional twin-piston reciprocating design. Preparative HPLC Systems

The LC-4000 preparative HPLC systems includes three platform options

 

  • Up to 20 mL/min for columns up to 21.2 mm ID
  • Up to 50 mL/min for columns up to 30 mm ID
  • Up to 120 mL/min for columns up to 50 mm ID  

 

Large column oven for multiple preparative columns and optional automatic 

column switching 

Preparative detector options including high fl ow short path length flow-cells

Open-bed fraction collector with sample trays for tubes, plates or large containers

ChromNAV-FC for fraction control using time, threshold or slope from up to 

different signals

Supercritical Fluid Chromatography

The use of supercritical fluid chromatography is a green alternative to traditional HPLC, with the use of CO2 taking the place of organic solvent as the mobile phase. CO2 has benefits for cost, health, and safety, as well as faster, cleaner sample recovery during sample purification. Other advantages of supercritical fluid chromatography include low viscosity with liquid-like densities, for higher solubility and increased column loading. The low viscosity and high diffusion lead to faster separations and faster extractions. SFC has long been the method of choice for chiral separations, but with a large (and rapidly growing) range of column phases available – SFC is now becoming a powerful tool for achiral separations, both analytically and for sample prep.
